It’s a fast-paced cut that lets the simple power of just bass and drums accompany the razor-sharp vocal delivery of the verses, before bursting to life with a deceptively simple, almost nostalgic power chord hook. “We grow up learning that queerness is wrong, something to be hidden, denied, erased,” they explain. “This song is an ode to the struggles of internalized homophobia, the quiet shame, the unspoken guilt, the relentless push and pull between desire and self-rejection.
